Wooden sailing ship HMS “SURPRISE” 1/75 scale
Hello, I have for sale a model of the HMS Surprise ship made by me.
The model is made mainly of wood with additions of metal parts.
The length of the model is about 80 cm.
“The ship was built at Le Havre in 1794 as a corvette armed with 24 eight-pounder guns. Serving in the French fleet under the name “L’Unite,” she was captured by the British in 1796 and renamed HMS Surprise. Simultaneously, the ship was rearmed and classified as a ship of the sixth rank, the sailing ship was the inspiration for Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey-Maturin series and for the 2003 film “Master and Commander at World’s End” based on the writer’s novels.
